INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY

Under the accomplishedguidance of Madam Principal Dr. Navjot, Lyallpur
Khalsa College for Women, Jalandhar the NSS in collaboration with the
Physical Education Department celebrated the International Yoga Day on June
21, 2020 in full swing. As per the directions of Ministry of Youth Affairs and
Sports Government of India, the students from department of Physical
Education, sports students, NSS volunteers and the college staff celebrated the
day by doing yoga with their respective families. Madam Principal Dr. Navjot
also said that in today's ’s scenario it is the need of the hour to understand the
importance of yoga day. As the pace of life currently has slowed down, it is
very crucial to be healthy and stay calm for mental wellness. Yoga is one
magical medicine which not only makes a person healthy but also aims for the
holistic well being. It also aids to lead a cheerful and an optimistic day thereby
helping and improving the tolerance power and thinking. Yoga also alleviates
the power of our body and immune system which is a must to fight against
pandemics like Covid 19. Keeping in mind all such benefits, the efforts of NSS
and department of Physical Education bore fruits and as a result the LKCW
fraternity along with their families have made yoga an integral part of their
lives.
Madam Principal Dr. Navjot cheered the efforts of Madam Sangeeta Sareen,
Head,Dept. of Physical Education and NSS officers Madam Manjeet Kaur,
Madam Simarjeet Kaur and Madam Manita for their efforts and endeavors.
