TEEJ CELEBRATIONS MARKED WITH POMP

Lyallpur Khalsa College for Women, Jalandhar celebrated Teej in its premises with full zeal
and fervor. Sardarni Balbir Kaur Ji, President, Governing Council sent her best wishes on the
said occasion. The programme featured wide variety of events like dance performances,
Kikli, traditional dances and Boliyan (Folk songs), etc. The students donned mesmerizing
traditional Punjabi attire and enjoyed the rhythm of the function. The Giddha (Folk dance of
Punjab) was organized and performed under the able guidance of Madam Rajwant. Madam
Principal Dr. Navjot, Principal, Lyallpur Khalsa College for Women, Jalandhar, while
addressing the gathering stated that such celebrations help us to reconnect with our rich
traditions and culture. Teej being the festival of daughters, also gives us the opportunity to
reiterate the monumental contributions of women to the society. They are excelling in each
and every sphere. Our college, too, is actively serving the cause of uplifting and empowering
women by providing them ample opportunities to flourish morally as well as professionally
in this constantly changing and challenging world. The programme was organized by
Department of Cultural Affairs. Madam Principal also appreciated the efforts of Dr. Akal
Amrit Kaur, Madam Kuldeep Kaur and Madam Rajwant Kaur, Department of Cultural
Affairs for organizing such an energizing and vibrant function. Everyone was in a jubilant
mood and the programme was an exuberant affair.
